Please be advised you cannot hold both a traditional and electronic license. When you apply for an electronic license you will be given a new commission number and expiration dates. You will surrender your traditional license and now hold only an E license.
Electronic notaries are notaries public who are registered to perform electronic notarial acts, which may be done remotely online. An electronic notary commission will authorize the license holder to provide both electronic remote online notarieal services and traditional services.
What types of online notarizations are permitted in New York?

- Acknowledgments: An official acknowledgment from a signer to a notary that a document has been willingly signed.
